Foxgloves beside Colliford Lake on Bodmin Moor

A shot of a group of foxgloves on the edge of Colliford Lake on Bodmin Moor

Colliford Lake is on Bodmin Moor, south of Jamaica Inn on the A30 road and close to the probably better known but much smaller Dozmary Pool. The lake is in fact a reservoir behind a dam that was built in 1986.

The Spring and early summer of 2009 have been good for wild flowers, and many parts of the moor look particularly attractive just now. This shot is looking towards the north, with nice light in the middle ground, subtle reflections on the completely calm lake and an interesting sky.

The Western Morning news printed this one on 22nd June.
